This map shows some biological, oceanographic, and geological features that are relevant to aquaculture, specifically eelgrass beds, water depth, and sediment grain size.
These datasets can be used to inform aquaculture site selection by identifying areas where conditions may be favorable to aquaculture production or where aquaculture activities may conflict with natural habitats.
As of November 2013, these datasets are complete based on the most recent available information. We will review eelgrass data periodically to include the most up-to-date information about eelgrass coverage. We are working with the aquaculture industry to determine additional needs for aquaculture site selection.
